Silicon Carbide
Silicon Carbide
Black and green silicon carbide, both of which are excellent lapping abrasives, are readily available. As a result of its hardness, it may be lapped with a high degree of precision onto very abrasive materials.
Black silicon is the best option when lapping brittle materials with low tensile strength.
Green silicon carbide outperforms black silicon carbide in hardness and friction reduction.
Applications
Gate valves, Compressor valve plates, SS parts, Piston rings etc.
